Rod Stewart brought his One Last Time Tour with special guest Richard Marx to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ this past weekend.
At 80 years young, that raspy voice and spiky trademark hairstyle is undeniable. Rod Stewart has immediate recognition and longevity like no other. Taking the stage, opening with “Infatuation”, the crowd showed that they are still infatuated with him.
Over six decades in the music business and among the best selling artists of all time, Sir Roderick David Stewart shows he's way above just a household name. His charisma and stylistic flair continue to shine through. Stewart's performance was backed by multi-talented musicians, singers and dancers with choreographed routines evoking vintage glamour with big-band theatricality.
Musical highlights included a litany of hits: “Tonight’s the Night”, “Maggie May”, “Young Turks”, “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?”, “The First Cut Is the Deepest”, “Have I Told You Lately", "Hot Legs” and a sprawling encore with “Some Guys Have All the Luck”.
Special Guest Richard Marx delivered a 45–50 minute set performing solo, just him, his guitar and piano. Opening with his hit “Endless Summer Nights", his songwriting prowess and vocal clarity continued throughout his performance of "Don't Mean Nothing", "Hold On to the Nights", "Should've Known Better" and his enduring classic "Right Here Waiting".
