The Used: Live in Salt Lake City
Union Event Center, Utah - 5.3.2025
As part of their 25-year anniversary tour, The Used returned to their home state of Utah for a sold-out show at The Union Event Center that felt like both a celebration and a homecoming. The post-hardcore trailblazers kicked off night one of a special three-night run in Salt Lake City with a full performance of their self-titled debut album.
The latest The Photo Blur contributor Audrey Waters was on hand to capture and deliver these amazing photos from Night One of the show.
The Used delivered a tight, high-energy set that reminded fans why this record became such a staple in the early 2000s emo scene. Bert McCracken was in classic form—his vocals switching seamlessly between raw screams and melodic hooks, while his banter kept the crowd engaged. At one point, he jokingly flipped off the audience with a grin, only to be met with cheers and louder singing in return. The connection between the band and the crowd was undeniable, and anyone who's been to their shows in the past can tell you that the intensity of the connection was nothing out of the ordinary.
The venue buzzed with energy, from the first riff of “Maybe Memories” to the final notes of “A Box Full of Sharp Objects.” Whether you were reliving teenage memories as an elder emo or experiencing the album live for the first time, it was the kind of show that stuck with you—raw, emotional, and completely authentic.
